There are thirteen new moons and twelve full moons in 2027. How to read the times
All times here are in Coordinated Universal Time (UTC). Please convert them to your local time before you plan anything. Near midnight this matters, because the date itself can change where you live. We calculated the times astronomically and checked them against published UTC tables. A difference of a minute is possible.
I keep two things apart. The date and the time are astronomy; they can be measured. The zodiac sign next to each moon belongs to astrology; it tells you which sign the Moon is counted in at that moment. I use the signs as a symbolic language, not as a scientific measurement. They give me a lovely vocabulary for reflecting and setting intentions.
When are the new moons and full moons from January to June 2027?
From January to June 2027 there are six new moons and six full moons. One small detail in this first half of the year: the April and May full moons are both in Scorpio.

When are the new moons and full moons from July to December 2027?
From July to December 2027 there are seven new moons and six full moons. August has two new moons, one at the start of the month and one at the end. And the year closes just as it began, with a new moon in Capricorn. A beginning and an ending meeting in the same place always reminds me of a circle completing itself.

Which eclipses are there in 2027?
According to NASA’s eclipse catalogue, 2027 has two solar eclipses and three lunar eclipses. I have marked each of them next to its new moon or full moon in the lists above. The sky has some beautiful moments in store for us this year.
The annular phase of the 6 February solar eclipse can be seen from Chile, Argentina and the Atlantic. The path of totality of the 2 August total solar eclipse crosses Spain, Morocco, Algeria, Libya, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Yemen and Somalia. All three lunar eclipses are penumbral. The Moon only darkens slightly, and it is often hard to notice. Even so, looking up at the sky that night is a lovely invitation in itself.
You can check on NASA’s eclipse pages whether an eclipse is visible where you live. If you plan to watch a solar eclipse, please use proper eclipse glasses. Looking at the Sun with the naked eye can damage your eyes.
How to use this calendar
You can use this calendar as a map. I write a separate blog post for every new moon and full moon, and I record a video for each one on my YouTube channel. The videos are in Turkish. You could mark the dates in your diary and keep a quiet moment for yourself on those evenings.
Writing intentions at the new moon and journaling at the full moon are personal practices. You do not need a special hour or special materials, and they do not promise any result.
