From the Asian Side to Şile: A Day of Breath and Meditation

From the Asian Side to Şile: A Day of Breath and Meditation

What happens if you keep one whole day for yourself? Most people who come to my workshops in Şile travel from Istanbul, especially from the Asian side: Kadıköy, Üsküdar, Ataşehir, Çekmeköy, Beykoz. A day planned to leave in the morning and be home by evening becomes, for many, the quietest day of the week.

Morning: breath

The day starts with a short walk on the farm and then breathwork. Breath is a simple way of noticing tension held in the body; it slows the mind before we move into meditation.

Midday: meditation and Emotrance

The main part of the workshop is meditation and Emotrance (emotional transformation) work. Using Emotrance’s experiential approach, you practise noticing where you feel an emotion in the body and accompanying it gently; a practice you can take home and use on your own.

Evening: the moon cycle

When the workshop falls on a new moon or full moon day we close with an intention or release meditation. These dates are announced ahead every month; for those who want to plan around the moon cycle, the calendar is in the workshops section of the site.

Who is it for?

People who have never meditated and people who have done it for years join the same group. I keep the groups small so that I can be with everyone properly. If you cannot come to Şile, we run some workshops online too. And if you would rather work one to one, the healing session is another way; we can look together at what suits you.

If you feel dizzy, experience pain or become noticeably uncomfortable during breathwork, stop the exercise and return to your normal breathing. Important information: These services are not intended as treatment and do not prevent or cure any illness. I am not a medical doctor; the sessions I give are experiential practices for personal awareness, spiritual exploration and wellbeing. If you have an ongoing health concern or treatment, please consult your doctor.
