What Is EmoTrance? How It Differs from EFT (Tapping)
Hello dear friends. EmoTrance (Emotional Transformation) is an energy method developed by Silvia Hartmann. You notice where in your body you feel an emotion that is difficult for you. Then you gently stay with that place, with your attention, your breath and your intention. 🌿
Have you ever felt a knot in your throat when you were sad, or a heaviness in your stomach when you were tense? Most of us try to solve our feelings by thinking. EmoTrance brings our attention to the body instead.
What do we do in an EmoTrance session?
- First we talk about the emotion or situation you want to look at that day.
- You find where you feel it in your body: a tightness in the chest, a knot in the throat, a heaviness in the stomach.
- You bring your attention to that place and accompany the sensation with your hands and your breath. In the language of the method, the energy softens and begins to flow.
- You tell me what you feel, and I stay beside you with my questions.
The work moves entirely through your own experience. You use your own energy, your breath and your intuition. The experience differs from person to person, and even from day to day. Once you learn the method, you can also use it on yourself in daily life. I call it a life skill.
EmoTrance vs EFT tapping: what is the difference?
EFT (Emotional Freedom Techniques), often simply called tapping, means lightly tapping specific points on the body with your fingertips while you focus on an issue. It follows a set order of points and repeated phrases.
In EmoTrance there is no tapping and no fixed sequence of points. The work follows the sensation you notice in your body in that moment. EFT offers a more structured flow. EmoTrance puts attention and body awareness at the centre. Which one feels closer to you is a personal choice.
What EmoTrance is not
EmoTrance is an awareness and energy practice. It is not a replacement for psychological support, psychotherapy or medical treatment, and I do not offer it as a solution for any condition. If you are going through intense anxiety, trauma or a health problem, please speak to a health professional first.
My training, and how sessions are arranged
I trained in 2013 in England with Silvia Hartmann, who developed the method. I am an EmoTrance Master Practitioner and a member of The AMT. I work one to one, face to face or online, in English or in Turkish. I usually suggest a series of three sessions, and we decide together at the first meeting.
To book a session, you can write to us; we will get back to you and find a day and time that suits you.
If you would like to learn the method and share it with others, I also run a three-day Master Practitioner training. You can find the details through the links below.
While reading this, did you notice a place in your body that caught your attention? I would be very happy if you shared what you noticed with me. Be gentle with yourself. 🙏

Frequently asked questions
What happens in an EmoTrance session?
You find where you feel a difficult emotion in your body and gently stay with that sensation, with your attention and your breath. I stay beside you with my questions.
Is EmoTrance the same as EFT tapping?
No. EFT is based on tapping specific points with the fingertips. EmoTrance has no tapping; it follows the sensation you notice in your body.
Can I practise EmoTrance on my own?
Yes, once you have learned it you can use it on yourself in daily life. Working with a practitioner at the start makes the method easier to get to know.
Is EmoTrance a replacement for therapy?
No. It is an awareness and energy practice and does not replace psychological or medical support.
Do you offer EmoTrance sessions in English or online?
Yes. I work one to one in English or Turkish, face to face or online.
How do I book a session?
Write to us. Our team will get back to you, and we find a suitable time together.
