Team Motivation Activities: Twelve Ideas for the Office and Outdoors
What people search for as team motivation activities are gatherings where a team does something together outside the work agenda: a workshop, a walk, a shared table. Below are twelve ideas for the office and outdoors. The first seven can be planned with Merve Tüfekçi and her team. The last five are plain ideas any company can organise by itself.
How an activity lands differs from team to team and from person to person. For that reason there is no promise of results here, and each idea comes only with what the group does.
Which activities can be planned with us?
Some of these seven are held at your office and some at Şifa Köyü in Şile. Where each one takes place is discussed with our team. They can be run in Turkish or in English.
- 1. Breath and awareness session at the office: the team breathes consciously together in their own workspace. No equipment is needed.
- 2. Candle making workshop: everyone melts the wax, chooses a colour and a scent, pours a candle and takes it home. Held at the office or at the farm.
- 3. Healing Art (finger painting): there are no brushes, and paint goes onto the canvas with the fingertips. No one needs to know how to paint, and the paintings stay with the participants.
- 4. Sound bath and meditation: the team lies down and listens to crystal bowls, Tibetan bowls and a gong.
- 5. Affirmation and goals workshop: each person sets a goal of their own, talks through concrete steps and leaves with sentences they wrote themselves.
- 6. A day at Şifa Köyü: meditation and breath work in nature, touching the soil and spending time with the farm’s animals.
- 7. A table in the garden with conversation: Merve Tüfekçi sits at the same table, there is no presentation, and people talk about what they are curious about.

Instead of a single event, sessions that repeat at set intervals can also be planned. Prices, durations and group sizes are not given in this post. They are agreed together, according to your group, when you contact our team.
Which activities can a company organise by itself?
The five ideas below need no one from outside. A volunteer and a small slot in the calendar are enough.
- 8. Walking meeting: a meeting with a short agenda is held on foot in a nearby park instead of at a table.
- 9. Team table: everyone brings a dish from home and the team eats together at lunch.
- 10. Skill sharing hour: one colleague shows the others a skill that has nothing to do with work (photography, bread making, an instrument).
- 11. Book swap shelf: a shelf is set up in a shared area. People leave a book they have read and take another.
- 12. Planting on the balcony or windowsill: with a few pots, soil and seeds the team plants together and shares the watering rota.
At the office or outdoors?
An activity at the office fits into the calendar easily: the team stays where it is, and preparation is often no more than booking a room. An outdoor activity means taking transport and weather into account, and in return the team spends a day together in a different setting.
The two do not have to replace each other. They can be planned in turn across the year.
What should you look at when choosing an activity?
- Voluntary participation: keep it optional and do not ask those who stay out for an explanation.
- Timing: ask the team whether it should be during working hours or after.
- Open to everyone: give priority to activities that need no prior knowledge or skill and are not physically demanding.
- Place and transport: for anything outside the office, decide early who arranges transport.
- Sensitivities and heat: for activities involving scent, paint or food, ask the team beforehand. For candle making, discuss the place of the heat source and your building’s rules in advance.
How a corporate event is planned step by step is covered in a separate post, linked below.
The workshops listed here are not a treatment and do not replace a doctor or a psychologist.
What the twelve ideas share is that they are simple: making something by hand, walking together, sitting at the same table. To see which one suits your team, it is enough to start with one and ask the team.

Frequently asked questions
What can be done at the office as a team motivation activity?
At the office you can hold a breath and awareness session, a candle making workshop, finger painting, a sound bath or a goals workshop. Ideas a company can organise by itself include a team table, a skill sharing hour and a book swap shelf.
What can a team do outdoors?
A walking meeting in a nearby park is one option. Teams looking for a full day can come to Şifa Köyü in Şile, where the day includes meditation and breath work in nature and touching the soil.
Can the workshops be held in English?
Yes. The work Merve Tüfekçi and her team do with companies can be run in Turkish or in English. It is enough to mention the language you prefer when you write.
How are the price and the group size decided?
Prices, durations and group sizes are not given in this post. When you tell our team how many people you are and which activity you have in mind, the details are agreed together.
Do these activities increase a team’s productivity?
No such promise is made. How an activity lands differs from team to team. This post only describes what can be done.
